Media Activism and Participatory Politics (MAPP)
Posted on February 14, 2014
Since joining the Media Activism and Participatory Politics (MAPP) project in Spring, 2013, I have had great opportunities to contribute to work focused on youth driven activism and civic engagement.
Projects have included developing and leading workshops that harness a worldbuilding approach to storytelling as a tool for real-world change, a webinar series that brought together a diverse set of practitioners and activists, and the ongoing design and production of a media-rich online resource for activists, educators and practitioners to explore civically engaged media and increase their own skills and connections.
The MAPP project is a part of the MacArthur Foundation’s Youth and Participatory Politics Research Network, is based at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, and is supported by the Media Arts + Practice Division.
